How do I create a PDF?

It is very easy: tap the Create PDF button, add pictures using the camera or from the gallery, then create the PDF. That’s it!

What’s the difference between Camera and Camera+?

The camera option allows you to take one picture and then returns you to the PDF create page. With Camera+ you can stay in the camera mode and take multiple pictures. It is similar to using a scanner with a document feeder. It’s great for copying lots of pages from a book!

How do I convert images into grayscale?

When you have loaded your image, tap the blue button on the right of the image, tap the Edit option and use grayscale (you can undo it if you don't like it). If you always want to convert all images into grayscale; from the home page, go into settings, and under the Images tab click the grayscale button.

Why is the free version limited to making 10 PDF files without banner?

Because we have to feed our kids! We are quite happy to let you use our product for making a few PDF files free of charge. But if you need to make more than 10 PDFs you should really be prepared to spend a bit of money!

What are PDF tags and how do I set them?

Tags can be used by document search engines to help find relevant PDFs. If you are not storing your PDF files in a document management system you will not need to use them.

In the PDF create page you can tap on the Tags icon and set the title, subject, author and any keywords you want to associate with your PDF. Default value for author can be set in the PDF section of the settings page. Note that title is not the same as the name of the PDF file!

How do I add, delete or change pages of an existing PDF?

Find the PDF in the list on the first page (remember you can tap the file name to view the PDF), tap on the blue button and use the Edit option. This will load the pages of the PDF and you can now add more pages using the camera and gallery options, delete existing pages and you can also change the page order.

How do I change the picture order?

When you are creating the PDF; you can tap the blue button next to the image and use the move up or move down options. If you want to change the page order of an existing PDF; find the PDF in the list on the first page, the most recent is always the first (remember you can tap the file name to view the PDF), tap on the blue button and use the Edit option. This will load the pages of the PDF and you can now use the move up and move down options mentioned above.

I want to change the default name of my PDFs

From the first screen, tap the settings option (the cog at the top right) and choose the PDF tab. Set the Default new name and remember it will automatically add a number (001, 002, etc.) after the name. Don't forget to click 'OK' before you leave the settings page.

Can I set the default email subject?

Yes and you can set the default address to send emails to. From the first screen, tap the settings option (the cog at the top right) and choose the Email tab. You can now set your default settings. Don't forget to click 'OK' before you leave the settings page.

How Do I Send PDFs to DropBox, Google Drive or Microsoft SkyDrive?

Tap the > button to display the Pop Up menu and choose the "Open In..." option and the choose the appropriate ICON - Please note you must have DropBox/Google Drive/Microsoft SkyDrive installed first. This feature is not available in the FREE edition

What is FTP?

FTP is a method of transferring files onto a server. This option is designed for organizations that have a number of people using ScanToPDF mobile and they want the PDFs to be sent to a central server for processing. You can also decide (Settings page) to have every new PDF sent onto a FTP server.
